At Canine Complex and Friends we now offer an exciting three level course for puppies. It is designed to meet the needs of puppies as they grow from 8 weeks old to adolescence: individuality, exploration, careful exposure to novel stimuli, social needs, play, skills to develop resiliency and confidence, choice games, crate training, cooperative care, a mock vet class, introduction to riding in the car, going new places, meeting new dogs and people, recall for safety and more! Natural puppy’s three levels include: 8-16 weeks, 4-6 months and adolescence.

The curriculum was created for human and puppy to become an amazing team with a relationship built on trust, security, fairness, understanding (body language and canine communication are taught in classes), and choice. In a world that’s a human’s world, dogs often don’t have much agency and as a result develop anxiety and fear if their learning, environment, genetics, and components of self such as: health, individuality, reproduction, nutrition and other welfare elements aren’t balanced (LEGS, Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediation). Many so called behavior problems are actually a normal response to the environment not meeting the needs of the breeds or individual in general.

Natural Puppy class is $200 for 8 weeks at each level.

Beginning Scent Work for the Modern Dog. In this class you will have the opportunity to learn traditional scentwork with the first scent, Birch. Through a series of fun activities, you and your dog will become a wonderful, communicative team. In addition to birch, you will learn different ways to incorporate scent into activities at home, using materials you already have on hand. Scentwork is an excellent way to work as a team and take advantage of our dogs' powerful instinct of sniffing. Class size limited to 6 dogs.

Classes are held at the NT and Buffalo Location.

Scent Work for Fun Class is $200 for 8 weeks.

Walking and Training Programs, We will pick up your dog from your home for their own personalized adventure. Whether your dog prefers a quiet at a park, a safe and secure off leash romp or a sniffari. We will create an individualized walk specific to your dogs needs with one of our certified dog trainer.

Dogs and Humans will learn about and explore Natural social interactions. Dogs will learn to smoothly transition between work, play and relaxation. The goal of this class is for dogs to be largely off leash. To join class dogs must go through an evaluation and must be able to maintain neutrality around other dogs and people.

Class take place at the NT Location as well as our East Amherst (weather Permitting).

Social cues is $250 for 8 weeks.

Senior dogs experience is all about enriching the senior years of your dogs life. While senior dogs struggle with Health & Mobility issues, in this class we focus on relaxation, safe and simple obstacle course and using their senses.

Senior dogs class is $200 for 8 weeks.

We offer specialized classes & private lessons for these wonderful dogs. Between setting up fun games, communications skills, or scent work around your house we look to enrich these special dogs lives.

Blind and/or Deaf Class is $200 for 8 weeks.

We offer private lessons tailored to your dog's individual needs. Lessons can be done at home or at My Lil' Pawdise in NT.

Walk this way- Leash walking class for anxious and stressed dogs. Helping your dog with leash manners, and how to handle stress outside. We will meet at various outdoor locations. Description goes here.

Lessons start at $220 for 8 weeks

We are now introducing hikes with dogs classes. A class where you can take your dog with you to hiking trails. Your dog can learn leash walking, how to handle distractions, and explore new smells!

This is a 4 week class for $120. 

High arousal does not necersalily mean that your dog has a lot of drive and energy. It can mean that your dog is anxious, fearful, or stressed about the world, and they respond to these emotions with intense excitement and activity. If your dog is aggressively friendly, if your dog is unsure about how to act around other dogs or people, does your dog have difficulty self-soothing, and you have a hard time interpreting if your dog's behavior is aggressive or not? This class might be for you! This class is for dogs and their humans who want to learn more about their dogs over arousal and to help their dog manage their own interactions with others, and out in the world. 

Lessons start at $250 for 8 weeks

Fear in dogs can present in a lot of different ways. Aggression, reactivity, and arousal all can be manifestations of fear. The fearful class is meant for those dogs who are often referred to as "shutdown". This class is for the dog who responds to stress with flight or freeze. It is for dogs that cannot engage with others or the world, and choose to hide and literally turn off from their environment. Whenever possible we like to conduct this class completely off leash, so the dogs have the ability to manage their own interactions. This class is often suitable for puppy mill survivors, and village/street dog imports from overseas. We work on confidence building, learning to make choices, and for the human side of the team, understanding why your dog is acting the way they are. As in all our classes, building trust and teaching the dog about safety is paramount.

Teach your dog fun new tricks! These tricks vary from spin to roll over. A fun class of learning and exploring new things to learn!

This class teaches your dog obedience skills. However, we go beyond that. We teach dogs advanced skills like leave it and mat training. The class will help your dog with cooperative care, such as handling nail clippers, hair brushing, muzzle training, and more. Helping your dog with daily tasks. We strive to teach dog manners for your family!
